Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11002

عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ كَيْسَانَ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ : دَارَسْتَ تَلَوْتَ خَاصَمْتَ جَادَلْتَ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Amr bin Kaysan narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) say: The word "darasta" means: you recited, you disputed, you argued (i.e. this may be what is meant).
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
