وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - قَالَ : لَمَّا نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ قَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ : أَلَيْسَ إِخْوَانُكُمُ الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا كَانُوا يَشْرَبُونَهَا ؟ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ - تَعَالَى - لَيْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا طَعِمُوا . قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " فَقِيلَ لِي : أَنْتَ مِنْهُمْ " . قُلْتُ : فِي الصَّحِيحِ بَعْضُهُ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the ruling on the prohibition of wine was revealed, the Jews said: "Those brothers of yours who have died, did they not use to drink wine?" So Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "There is no sin upon those who believe and do righteous deeds for what they have eaten." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: "Then it was said to me: 'You are one of them.'" (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: part of it is mentioned in "the Sahih."
