Sayyiduna Utbah bin Abd al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his Companions: "Rise and fight." They said: "Very well, O Messenger of Allah! We will not say as the Children of Israel said to Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him): 'Go, you and your Lord, and fight; indeed, we are sitting right here.' Rather, O Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! You go forth, and your Lord too (as Helper and Supporter); we will take part in the fighting with you."
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it; he added these words at its beginning: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered his Companions to fight, and a man from among his Companions shot an arrow. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This man has made it due (for himself)." When he ordered them to fight, they said: and after that the narrator mentioned the hadith as before. The chains of both these reports are hasan (good).
