Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) had a dispute with a man, and they brought their case to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ruled in favour of Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him). The man said: "He has ruled in favour of Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) only because Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) is the son of his paternal aunt." So this verse was revealed about it: "By your Lord! These people cannot be believers until."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Ya'qub bin Humayd, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy), while others declared him da'if (weak).
