قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا بِطَانَةً مِنْ دُونِكُمْ .
The saying of Allah the Exalted: "O you who believe, do not take as intimates those other than yourselves"

عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا بِطَانَةً مِنْ دُونِكُمْ لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًا وَدُّوا مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ الْبَغْضَاءُ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِي صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ الْآيَاتِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ، قَالَ : هُمُ الْخَوَارِجُ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ جَيِّدٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding this statement of Allah Almighty, (Allah Almighty says:) "O you who believe! Do not take as intimates those other than yourselves (belonging to another religion), for they will not fall short in causing you harm, and they wish that hardship befall you. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater. We have made the verses clear to you, if you would understand." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said (or Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said): This refers to the Khawarij.
