Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Tha'labah bin Sha'bah (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Asad bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) and those of the Jews who accepted Islam embraced Islam, believed, affirmed the truth and showed eagerness for Islam, the rabbis of the Jews, who were the people of disbelief, said: "Whoever believed in Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and followed him were the worst of us; had they been among the best of us, they would not have abandoned the religion of their forefathers." So Allah Almighty revealed this verse about that: "They are not all alike; among the People of the Book," from here up to this statement of Allah Almighty: "among the righteous."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
