قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ .

عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ ، قَالَ : هُمُ الَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا مَعَ مُحَمَّدٍ ، صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates regarding this statement of Allah Almighty, (Allah Almighty says:) "You are the best nation brought forth for mankind; you enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: This refers to those who emigrated to Madinah with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
