عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ : شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنُ وَقَوْلِهِ : إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ فَقَالَ : إِنَّهُ قَدْ أُنْزِلَ فِي رَمَضَانَ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ جُمْلَةً وَاحِدَةً ، ثُمَّ أُنْزِلَ عَلَى مَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ رَسْلًا فِي الشُّهُورِ وَالْأَيَّامِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ سَعْدُ بْنُ طَرِيفٍ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .

It is transmitted about Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he was asked about this saying of Allah Almighty (Allah Almighty says: "The month of Ramadan in which the Qur'an was revealed," while in another place Allah Almighty says:) "Indeed, We revealed it in a blessed night." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: It was revealed in Ramadan, on the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr), which is the blessed night; in it, it was revealed all at once, and then it was revealed from the heaven gradually, at intervals, over various months and days.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Sa'd bin Tarif, who is matruk (abandoned).
