قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا .
The saying of Allah the Exalted: "And thus We have made you a middle nation"

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا . قَالَ : " عَدْلًا " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) concerning this saying of Allah Almighty: (Allah Almighty says:) "And thus We have made you a 'wasat' nation." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Here 'wasat' means being just.
