Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 10839

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) had prayed for this (city) to the exclusion of other people, so Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "And whoever disbelieves." He too will receive this; I will provide for them just as I provide for the believers. Would I create a creation and not provide for them? I will let them enjoy themselves for a little while, then I will force them to the punishment of the Fire. Then Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) recited this verse: "To each, these and those (that is, those who seek this world and those who seek the Hereafter), We extend from the bounty of your Lord, and the bounty of your Lord is not restricted."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
