Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The sa'ibah (one who dies from being struck by an animal) goes unrecompensed; the one who dies falling into a pit goes unrecompensed; the one who dies falling into a mine goes unrecompensed; and in buried treasure the payment of one-fifth (khums) is due."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it, but he transmitted the word 'sa'imah' in place of 'sa'ibah'.
Imam Ahmad transmitted it from Khalaf, although he did not narrate it. Its chain contains Mujalid bin Sa'id, who suffered from confusion (ikhtilat).
