Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not explain any part of the Qur'an by his own personal opinion, except for a certain number of verses; Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) had informed him (peace and blessings be upon him) about (the explanation of) those (verses).
Abu Ya'la recorded it, and al-Bazzar recorded something similar. Its chain contains a narrator whose name is not established by either of the two. The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih. Al-Bazzar said: It is transmitted from Hafs (I think he is Hafs bin Abdullah), from Hisham bin Urwah. Abu Ya'la said: It is transmitted from so-and-so bin Muhammad bin Khalid, from Hisham.
