Sayyiduna Mahmud bin Labid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the day of Uhud the swords of the Muslims fell upon al-Yaman, the father of Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with them both), and they killed him without recognising him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to pay his blood money, but Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) gave up his blood money for the Muslims.
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains Muhammad bin Ishaq, who is a mudallis but thiqah (trustworthy), and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
