In one version the wording is: The narrator says: A man from the Jews cast a spell of sorcery on the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and because of it he was ill for some days. Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) came to him and said: "A man from the Jews has cast a spell on you, and he has tied knots for you." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) to it, and he took the thing out; and as he untied each knot, the condition of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept improving. After that, the narrator mentioned the narration as before. (Al-Haythami says:) I say: Al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) recorded it in abridged form.
Al-Tabarani recorded it with various chains, the narrators of one of which are the narrators of the Sahih. The incident of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and her slave-woman has already passed in the chapter on medicine.
