وَعَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " مَا عُوقِبَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى ذَنْبٍ إِلَّا جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ كَفَارَّةً لِمَا أَصَابَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الذَّنْبِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ يَاسِينُ الزَّيَّاتُ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whenever a servant is punished for a sin, Allah Almighty makes that an expiation for his committing that sin."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Yasin al-Zayyat, who is matruk (abandoned).
