Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 10525

Sayyiduna Amir bin Rabi'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man took another man's sandals and hid them, joking with him. This was mentioned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not alarm a Muslim, for alarming a Muslim is a great wrong."
Al-Tabarani and al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains Asim bin Ubaydullah, who is da'if (weak).
