بَابٌ فِي مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ حَقِّهِ وَأَهْلِهِ وَمَالِهِ
One who is killed defending his right, his family and his property

وَعَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ قَالَ : قَالَ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ : إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ :
" نِعْمَ الْمَنِيَّةُ أَنْ يَمُوتَ الرَّجُلُ دُونَ حَقِّهِ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَذَكَرَ فِيهِ قِصَّةً ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ إِلَّا أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرِ بْنَ حَفْصٍ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ سَعْدٍ .

Abu Bakr bin Hafs narrates: Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "An excellent death is that a man dies (while defending) his right."
Ahmad recorded it, and he mentioned the full incident in it; al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. The narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih, except that Abu Bakr bin Hafs did not hear from Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him).
