Muhammad bin Sirin narrates: On the day of the battle against Musaylimah, a man who was called 'the Donkey of al-Yamamah' came face to face with Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him). He was a very tall man with a white sword in his hand. Sayyiduna al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him) was a short man. Sayyiduna al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him) struck at his legs with the sword; his blow seemed to miss, and the man fell on the back of his neck. He says: Then I sheathed my sword and took up his sword. I struck only a single blow with it before it broke, so I threw it away and took up my own sword.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that Ibn Sirin did not live in the time of Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him). The narration about al-Rajjal bin Unfuwah, from Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him), concerning his foretelling of hidden matters, will come later.
