Sayyiduna Jufaynah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wrote him a letter, and he used it to patch his bucket. His daughter said to him: "You took the letter of the chief of the Arabs and patched your bucket with it!" Then that man fled, and everything he had, little and much, was taken. Later he came back as a Muslim, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Look for whatever you find of your belongings before the shares are distributed, and take it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Abu Bakr al-Dahiri, who is da'if (weak).
