بَابٌ فِيمَنِ اسْتُصْغِرَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ

وَعَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ جَارِيَةَ قَالَ : اسْتَصْغَرَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - نَاسًا يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ مِنْهُمْ زَيْدُ بْنُ جَارِيةَ - يَعْنِي نَفْسَهُ - وَالْبَرَاءُ بْنُ عَازِبٍ ، وَسَعْدُ بْنُ خَيْثَمَةَ ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ، وَجَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْعُثْمَانِيُّ ، ولَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Zayd bin Jariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the day of Uhud, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) considered some people too young. Among them were Sayyiduna Zayd bin Jariyah (may Allah be pleased with him), meaning the narrator himself, Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Khaythamah (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), and Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Uthman bin Ya'qub al-Uthmani, whom I do not know. The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
