Answer:
Yes indeed!
The matter of divorce arises from Satan. It is narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah رضي الله عنه that I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم say:
“Indeed, Iblis places his throne upon the sea, then he sends his armies to mislead people. Among them, the one who misleads the most is the greatest. One of them comes and says: I have done such and such. Iblis says: You have done nothing. Then another comes and says: I did not leave that man until I caused separation between him and his wife. So Iblis brings him close and says: Yes, you have done a deed.”
From this narration, it is understood that divorce between husband and wife happens due to the deception and trickery of Satan. Therefore, O brother! Do not rush to divorce immediately, but adopt the following measures:
➊ Advise your wife kindly and repeatedly.
➋ If she does not desist, then separate beds from her, but do not leave the house; that is, separate yourself from her within the house.
➌ If she still does not accept this effect, then lightly strike her.
➍ If the matter still does not improve, then bring a decision from her family, because the Holy Quran instructs:
“So advise them and separate from them in beds and strike them.”
If none of these methods prove effective, then divorce is the last resort.
