❀ Did the Prophet ﷺ Offer Qurbānī on ʿĪd al-Aḍḥā Outside of Hajj? ❀

❖ Question:
Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform qurbānī on the day of ʿĪd al-Aḍḥā even on occasions when he was not performing Ḥajj?
❖ Answer:
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!
Yes, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed qurbānī on the day of ʿĪd al-Aḍḥā even when he was not on Ḥajj.
This is clearly established in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī and Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim:
❖ Ḥadīth Evidence:
«عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ : ضَحّٰی رَسُوْلُ اﷲِ ﷺ بِکَبْشَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ أَقْرَنَيْنِ ذَبَحَهُمَا بَيَدِهِ وَسَمّٰی وَکَبَّرَ»
Anas (رضي الله عنه) reported:
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sacrificed two rams, white and black in color and horned. He slaughtered them with his own hand, mentioned the name of Allah, and said Allāhu Akbar.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim)
✅ Conclusion:
The Prophet ﷺ performed ʿĪd al-Aḍḥā sacrifice outside of Ḥajj, and this Sunnah is authentically established.
هٰذَا مَا عِندِي وَاللّٰهُ أَعْلَمُ بِالصَّوَاب
