◈ Procrastination by a Wealthy Debtor ◈
It is not permissible for a wealthy person to delay repayment.
This refers to a situation where a person is financially capable of fulfilling his obligatory dues, yet he delays in repaying them — this is prohibited in Islam.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Delaying repayment by a wealthy person is injustice. And when any of you is appointed to pursue repayment from a wealthy individual, he should go after him.”

❖ Key Principle:
If someone is financially able to discharge a debt or fulfill a right that is due upon him, he must do so without delay.
Intentional procrastination, despite capability, is considered a form of ẓulm (oppression) in Sharīʿah.
