❖ Question

In a mosque where the method of Jumuʿah is as follows:

✿ First, the Mawlānā delivers a lecture,
✿ Then Sunnah prayers are performed,
✿ After that, the adhān is given,
✿ Then the first khuṭbah followed by the second khuṭbah, both only in Arabic,
✿ Finally, the congregational prayer is performed—

Is it permissible to pray Jumuʿah in such a mosque?
Does Jumuʿah count in this way?
And is this method correct?

❖ Answer

Al-ḥamdu lillāh, wa-ṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, Ammā Baʿd!

Such a method is not correct because it is not the way of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.
However, if the beliefs of these people do not involve kufr or shirk, then in that case both Jumuʿah and ṣalāh are considered valid.

Hādhā mā ʿindī wa-Allāhu Aʿlam bi-ṣ-ṣawāb.
