Question: Is it permissible for a wife to take wages for preparing the food that she makes for herself and her husband?
Answer: It is obligatory upon the woman that she should work in her home without wages according to the prevailing custom of the country, because the custom and tradition of the country hold the status of conditions, and in our country, the habit and custom is that the woman herself cooks and does other household chores, therefore it is obligatory upon her.
