❀ Answer by: Shaykh Abdul Wakeel Nasir

Yes, there is an authentic Hadith that clearly mentions the virtues of Jumuʿah prayer and forgiveness of sins.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim: 1987]

✿ Meaning of the Hadith:

Whoever performs ghusl on the day of Jumuʿah, comes to the mosque on time, offers whatever voluntary prayers are possible, listens to the khutbah silently and attentively, and then performs the Jumuʿah prayer with the Imam,
his sins from that Jumuʿah to the next will be forgiven, along with an additional three days of forgiveness.

✔ Summary:

① This Hadith is found in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim and is authentic.
② It clearly mentions the virtue of Jumuʿah prayer and the forgiveness of sins.
③ The meaning of ten days of forgiveness is derived from the seven days between the two Jumuʿahs and three extra days, making it a total of ten days’ sins forgiven, provided they are not major sins.
