Types of Jinn and Their Forms

Question:

What are the different types of jinn and what forms can they take?

Answer:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Thalabah رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said without doubt:
«الجن على ثلاثة أضاف: صنف له أجنحة يطيرو فى الهواء، وصنف حيات وكلاب، وصنف يحلون ويظعنون»
“There are three types of jinn: one type has wings and flies in the air, the second type is like snakes and dogs, and the third type is those who possess bodies and send towards evil.”
