The Virtue of Fasting in Ramadan
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (RA) that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Whoever fasts in Ramadan with faith and seeking reward (for the pleasure of Allah), then his previous sins will be forgiven.”
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “When the month of Ramadan comes, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained.”
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (RA) says, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“There is a gate in Paradise called Al-Rayyan. Only those who fast will enter through it; no one else will enter besides them. A call will be made: ‘Where are the fasting people?’ They will stand up and enter through this gate, then it will be closed and no one else will enter through it.”
