Story Number 61:
Where is the status of the kings of the lands?
Hazrat Abu Hujayfa (may Allah be pleased with him) says that once I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) wearing a red leather garment, Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) standing with water for ablution, and people were competing with each other. Whoever got the water used by the Prophet (peace be upon him) for ablution, he took it, and whoever did not get it, he would wet his hand from his companion’s hand. I saw Bilal had a spear which he had planted in the ground. Finally, the Prophet (peace be upon him) came wearing clothes, his waistcloth was high above the calves. The Prophet (peace be upon him) stood by that spear and led the prayer, and people and animals were passing in front of the spear.
Benefit:
It was night time, the moon was busy spreading its moonlight, the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were busy preparing for prayer, and the most beautiful of the beautiful, the leader of the leaders, the Imam leading the prayer was shining in the congregation, as if every particle of the universe was attentively listening to the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) enchanting recitation. After the prayer, sitting among the crowd of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), they began to compare the moon of Allah with the moon of the earth and sky, and decided, “What relation does dust have with the pure world?” They concluded that the moon which has received moonlight is a charity from our moon, otherwise this poor one would remain deprived of light. And I am also burdened with the feeling: why are those who call themselves emperors, kings, and leaders so deluded about themselves? I wish! Someone would also tell them this incident.
Story Number 62:
The Minbar of the Prophet ﷺ
Abu Hazim bin Dinar says that once there was a disagreement among people about what kind of wood the Minbar of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was made from. So, everyone came to the presence of Hazrat Sahl bin Sa’d Sa’di (may Allah be pleased with him) and inquired about it. Hazrat Sahl said, “By Allah! I know very well what kind of wood the Minbar was made from. The day the Minbar was brought to the mosque for the first time and the Prophet ﷺ sat on it for the first time, I was watching. The incident was that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a certain woman to say, ‘Send your carpenter slave to me so that he may prepare a Minbar for me on which I can sit and deliver sermons to the people.’ Accordingly, the woman ordered her slave to make the Minbar. The slave made the Minbar from the wood of the Jhau tree from the Ghaba forest and brought it to the woman. The woman sent the Minbar to the presence of the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ ordered it to be installed, and as per the command, it was placed in a certain spot. After that, I saw the Prophet ﷺ go up on the Minbar, say Takbeer, and bow (Ruku’). Then he came down from the Minbar and prostrated near its base. Then he went back up on the Minbar again. When he finished the prayer, he said, ‘O people, I did this so that you may follow me and learn my prayer.'”
Benefit:
According to some narrations, the woman herself requested that if the Prophet ﷺ permitted, she wanted to have her slave make a Minbar for him. Anyway! Whatever the exact incident was, I envy that “trunk” which before the Minbar was made used to support the Prophet ﷺ. After the Minbar was made, this date palm trunk could not bear the separation from its master and began to cry like a small child. The Master of the Two Worlds ﷺ came to it while walking, embraced it to his chest, and comforted it. Only then did its crying stop. What do you think? Was this a human? Absolutely not! It was a lifeless and speechless date palm trunk, yet it could not bear separation from its master. Are we not, while being humans, neglecting the Sunnah of our Master and proving ourselves to be worse than lifeless things? Have we become unaware even of the basics of consciousness and awareness? Do we not have even the feelings of a date palm trunk?
Story Number 63:
The Incident of Ilaa
Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) fell from his horse and the flesh of his shin or thigh was scraped off. At that time, the Prophet (peace be upon him) took an Ilaa (vow) from his wives for one month (meaning he swore not to approach them for one month) and he started living in an upper chamber whose stairs were made of palm trunks. When the companions came to visit him, the Prophet (peace be upon him) led them in prayer while they stood. After completing the prayer, he said: “Is the Imam (leader) there to be followed? When he says Takbeer, you should also say Takbeer; when he bows, you should also bow; when he prostrates, you should also prostrate; if he prays standing, you should also pray standing.” After that, on the 29th day, the Prophet (peace be upon him) came down from that upper chamber. People asked him, “O Messenger of Allah, you swore for a month.” He replied, “A month can also be 29 days.”
Benefit:
This incident holds great importance in the books of Seerah and Hadith and is known as the “Incident of Ilaa.” Further details can be seen in Sahih Bukhari.
Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that for a long time he wished to ask Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about which two wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him) Allah Almighty referred to in the verse “If you both repent to Allah, your hearts have indeed inclined.” But due to fear, he could not ask. Until once Hazrat Umar performed Hajj and I accompanied him. On the way back, Hazrat Umar turned aside, and I followed him carrying a water container. Hazrat Umar went to relieve himself, then washed his hands, and performed ablution. At that moment, I said, “Commander of the Faithful! Which two wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him) did Allah Almighty mention in the verse ‘If you both repent to Allah, your hearts have indeed inclined’?” He replied, “Ibn Abbas! It is surprising that you do not know this. They were Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her).” After that, Hazrat Umar began narrating the Hadith.
He said, “I and my Ansari neighbor lived in the Bani Umayyah neighborhood in Awali Medina and used to visit the Prophet (peace be upon him) alternately; one day he would go, the next day I would go. When I went, I would inform him about the revelations and events of that day, and he would do the same. Since we belonged to the Quraysh tribe, we used to dominate over women, but when we reached the Ansar, we saw that their women dominated over men. Seeing the Ansari women, our women also began adopting their habits and traits.
One day, I raised my voice at my wife, and she replied back. I disliked her response. She said, ‘Why do you dislike my reply? By Allah! The wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him) also reply to him, and some women even stay away from the Prophet (peace be upon him) all day without speaking.’ Hearing this, I felt fear and said to her, ‘Among the wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him), whoever does this is corrupt.’
After that, I dressed and went to my daughter, Hazrat Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her), and asked, ‘Is there any woman among you who keeps the Prophet (peace be upon him) angry all day?’ Hafsa said, ‘Yes!’ I said, ‘Then she is corrupt. Can you remain fearless of Allah’s wrath by angering the Prophet (peace be upon him)? You will perish. Do not demand more than the Prophet (peace be upon him), nor argue or compete with him, nor ever stop talking to him. Whatever you need, ask me. Do not be deceived by the fact that your mistress (Hazrat Aisha Siddiqah, may Allah be pleased with her) is the beloved of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and more beautiful than you.’
Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said that at that time we used to talk among ourselves that the king of Ghassan was shoeing his horses to fight us. One day, my Ansari friend went on his turn and returned at Isha time, knocking loudly on my door and calling out, ‘Is anyone there?’ I came out in fear. The Ansari said, ‘Today a great incident happened.’ I asked, ‘Did the king of Ghassan come?’ He said, ‘No! Something bigger and more frightening happened. The Prophet (peace be upon him) divorced his wives.’ Hearing this, I immediately said, ‘Hafsa has suffered loss; I feared this before.’ Then I dressed and prayed Fajr with the Prophet (peace be upon him). After the prayer, the Prophet (peace be upon him) went to his upper chamber where he stayed in seclusion, and I went to Hafsa’s house.
Hafsa was crying. I asked, ‘Why are you crying? Did I not warn you before? Did the Prophet (peace be upon him) divorce all of you?’ Hafsa said, ‘I do not know! The Prophet (peace be upon him) has taken a liking to the upper chamber opposite.’ I left there and came near the pulpit where some people were sitting, some of whom were crying. I stayed with them for a while, but anxiety overwhelmed me, so I went to the upper chamber where the Prophet (peace be upon him) was. I asked his Abyssinian servant to seek permission for me to meet the Prophet (peace be upon him). The servant went inside and conveyed my request, but after a while returned saying the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not respond. Hearing this, I returned and sat again with those near the pulpit. But anxiety overwhelmed me again, so I told the servant to seek permission again for Umar. The servant went inside and after some time returned saying I mentioned you, but the Prophet (peace be upon him) remained silent. I returned and sat again with those near the pulpit. Anxiety overwhelmed me once more, so I told the servant to seek permission again for me. The servant went inside and after a while returned saying I mentioned you, but the Prophet (peace be upon him) remained silent. I was about to turn back when the servant called me and said the Prophet (peace be upon him) has given you permission.
I went to the Prophet (peace be upon him), who was lying on a bare mat with a leather pillow filled with palm bark. The marks of the mat were on his blessed body. I greeted and stood, saying, ‘O Messenger of Allah! Have you divorced your wives?’ The Prophet (peace be upon him) looked at me and said, ‘No.’ I said, ‘Allahu Akbar!’ Then, standing, I tried to make the Prophet (peace be upon him) comfortable by saying, ‘O Messenger of Allah, we Quraysh used to dominate over women, but when we came to Medina, we saw that their women dominate over men.’ The Prophet (peace be upon him) smiled upon hearing this. Then I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, I went to Hafsa and told her not to be deceived by the fact that your mistress (Hazrat Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her) is the beloved of the Prophet (peace be upon him).’ Hearing this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) smiled twice. Seeing the Prophet (peace be upon him) smile the second time, I sat down and looked around the room but saw nothing except three raw hides. I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah to grant your Ummah abundance, for the kings of Persia and Rome have been given great wealth and the whole world, yet they do not worship Allah.’ The Prophet (peace be upon him), still resting on the pillow, said, ‘Ibn Khattab! Do you have any doubt? Those people have been given all the best things in worldly life.’ I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, pray for my forgiveness.’
Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said that because of this incident, the Prophet (peace be upon him) became a recluse because Hazrat Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) disclosed the Prophet’s secret to Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), and the Prophet (peace be upon him) said he would not go to them for a month because Allah had reprimanded him. Due to this grief, the Prophet (peace be upon him) vowed not to go to the women for a month. After 29 days passed, the Prophet (peace be upon him) first went to Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). She said, ‘You swore for a month, and I have been counting; 29 nights have passed.’ He said, ‘A month can also be 29 days.’ So that month was 29 days.
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that after this, the verse of Takhbeer was revealed, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) first asked me and said, ‘I am telling you something, but do not respond hastily; first consult your parents.’ The Prophet (peace be upon him) knew that my parents would not like to separate me from him. Then he recited this verse, which means: “O wives of the Prophet! If you desire the worldly life and its adornments, then come, I will provide you with a good provision and set you free. But if you desire Allah and His Messenger and the Hereafter, then Allah has prepared for the righteous women a great reward.” I asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, should I consult my parents in this matter?’ I am desirous of Allah, His Messenger, and the Hereafter. After that, the Prophet (peace be upon him) gave all the wives the choice, and all responded like me.
Benefit:
Regarding this incident, some say that the pure wives complained about financial hardship and demanded an increase in maintenance from the Prophet (peace be upon him). However, I have never agreed with this opinion that the wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him) complained about financial hardship, especially since the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to give all his pure wives their full annual maintenance at the beginning of the year.
The real matter is that the pure wives were the “sanctuary of Prophethood.” The companionship and association with the Prophet (peace be upon him) was a source of pride for them, and they learned much from him: prayer, fasting, pilgrimage, zakat, recitation, worship, dealings, social relations, beliefs, ethics, patience, gratitude, reliance, contentment, courage, honor, and generosity. Therefore, while they pleased their Lord through worship, they were also generous.
Sometimes, they had nothing left to give to the needy, which they felt deeply. Hence, they requested an increase in annual maintenance from the Prophet (peace be upon him). But since this was apparently a request for worldly increase, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not desire the world and its adornments, this request was hard on his nature, and the wives collectively withdrew to an upper chamber for a month.
Consider that after 29 days, the Prophet (peace be upon him) came down from the upper chamber and went to the truthful daughter of the truthful one (Hazrat Aisha), who coquettishly said, “You swore for a month, and the month is not yet complete.” Now, if someone deprived starts saying, “Look! Aisha did not like the Prophet (peace be upon him) coming to her,” then this thinking is wrong and correctable because the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not express any displeasure at her coquettishness and said, “A month can also be 29 days.”
Story Number 64:
The Necessity of Sa’i
Hazrat Amr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that we asked Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that if a person engages in intimacy after performing Tawaf of the Kaaba during Umrah but before performing Sa’i between Safa and Marwah, what is the ruling? Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied that when the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) came to Makkah, first he performed Tawaf of the Kaaba seven times, then he prayed two rak’ahs behind Maqam Ibrahim, and after that, he performed Sa’i between Safa and Marwah. Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said that following the example of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) is the best course of action for you. Amr says that I asked Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) the same question, and he replied that no person can have intimacy with a woman before performing Sa’i between Safa and Marwah.
Benefit:
Hajj is not only an act of loving worship but also a strenuous spiritual exercise. A person leaves behind all desires, wearing the attire of the poor, raising the chants of “Labbaik,” and pitches his tent in the court of the Almighty, hoping for forgiveness of his sins. He becomes indifferent to both women and wealth. How appreciative is the Lord that after completing Hajj, He purifies the pilgrim from sins and slips as if he has just been born from his mother’s womb. The only condition is that the Muslim considers following the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a blessing for himself.
Story Number 65:
Kaaba within the Kaaba
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that on the day of Mecca, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) rode a she-camel, with Hazrat Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) riding behind him, coming from the upper part of Mecca. At that time, Uthman bin Talha was the custodian of the Kaaba, and Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was accompanying them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) had the camel seated inside Masjid al-Haram and ordered Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) to bring the key of the Kaaba. The Kaaba was opened, and the Prophet (peace be upon him), along with Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), Usama (may Allah be pleased with him), and Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), entered the Kaaba and stayed inside for a long time. After a considerable while, when they came out, people rushed to enter the Kaaba. I was the first to enter and saw Bilal standing behind the door. I asked where the Prophet (peace be upon him) had prayed. Bilal pointed to a place, but I forgot to ask how many rak’ahs the Prophet (peace be upon him) had prayed.
Benefit:
In some other narrations of Sahih al-Bukhari, it is reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed two rak’ahs inside the Kaaba. These narrations specify the place of prayer, mentioning that he prayed two rak’ahs between two pillars located on the left side inside the Kaaba, and two rak’ahs outside the Kaaba in front of it. What a beautiful day it was when the Kaaba entered the Kaaba, adorned it with his joyful prostrations, and made it understand that even if the entire universe prostrated before you tomorrow, do not consider yourself anything special. If you are the Kaaba for the people, then I am the Kaaba for you, and I consider myself a servant of the Lord of the worlds.
Story Number 66:
I am also a human being
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah ibn Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) led the prayer. Ibrahim says that he does not remember whether the prayer was shorter or longer. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) concluded the prayer with salam, the people asked if there was a new ruling in the prayer. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked what had happened. The people explained the incident, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) immediately turned his feet to face the Qibla again, performed two prostrations, and then concluded with salam. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) turned towards us and said that if there was any such ruling in the prayer, he would have informed us earlier, but he is also a human being like us, and just as we forget, he also forgets. When he forgets, we should remind him. And if anyone doubts during the prayer, he should think carefully and complete the prayer based on the stronger assumption, then conclude with salam and perform two prostrations.
Benefit:
For more details of this incident, refer to Bukhari Sharif.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) led one of the noon prayers (Ibn Sirin says that Hazrat Abu Huraira mentioned the name of the prayer, but I forgot), and in it, the Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed two rak’ahs and concluded with salam. There was a piece of wood in the mosque on which the Prophet (peace be upon him) rested his head. At that time, the Prophet (peace be upon him) appeared angry. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) placed his right hand on his left and interlaced his fingers, placing his right cheek on the back of his left palm. Rash people left the mosque through the door and said that the prayer was short. Among those present were Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), but they did not dare to speak. However, a man with long hands named Dhul-Yadain said, “O Messenger of Allah, have you forgotten or has the prayer been shortened?” The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, “Neither have I forgotten nor is the prayer shortened.” Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked if this was really the case, and the people said yes. Consequently, the Prophet (peace be upon him) completed the remaining prayer, concluded with salam, said takbir, and performed a prostration that was either normal or somewhat longer. Then he raised his head, said takbir, and concluded with salam.
Warning:
This is an incident from the early days of Islam. Following this incident, speaking during the prayer is not permitted in the present time.
Story Number 67:
How old is Umar?
Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said that my Lord agreed with me in three matters.
➊ I had said, O Messenger of Allah! If you designate the Station of Ibrahim as the place of prayer, how good it would be? Upon this, Allah Almighty revealed this verse واتخذوا من مقام ابراهيم مصلي.
➋ I had said, O Messenger of Allah! People of all kinds, both good and bad, come to you. If you order the pure wives to observe hijab, it would be better. Upon this, Allah Almighty revealed the verse about hijab.
➌ I heard that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was displeased with some of his wives. I went to those wives and said, if you desist from your behavior, it would be better; otherwise, Allah Almighty will grant His Messenger better women in your place. When I went to one wife, she said, Umar! Can’t the Messenger of Allah himself advise his wives that you have come to advise? After this, Allah Almighty revealed the following verse: “If they divorce you, it may be that Allah will give you in exchange better Muslim women than them.”

The importance of the “Approvals of Umar” in Tafsir and the principles of Tafsir is clear and evident even to the least student of the principles of Tafsir. This is a distinguishing mark and a cause of great pride for Hazrat Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him), and scholars have always paid special attention to it and have written books on the “Approvals of Umar.”
Allama Suyuti (may Allah have mercy on him) collected in his book “Al-Itqan” those verses which were revealed as Quranic verses according to the heartfelt wishes of Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). The number of such verses is approximately twenty-two. For further details, please refer to “Al-Itqan.”
Story Number 68:
This is also a matter of etiquette
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) saw moisture on his nose towards the Qibla, which caused him great discomfort, and its effect was visible on his face. The Prophet (peace be upon him) got up and wiped it away with his hand and said: When a person prays, he is speaking to his Lord, or he said that between him and the Qibla is his Lord. Therefore, no one should spit towards the Qibla, but rather to the left side or under the foot. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) took the edge of his cloak, spat into it, wiped it, and said: Do this as well.
Benefit:
Islamic teachings and etiquettes of life are based on such eternal, magnificent, and exemplary principles that are more than sufficient to make society a “paradise on earth.” But the regrettable thing is that we are always eager to find and highlight the faults of our own people and praise the goodness of others. We consider it necessary to attribute every good deed to the West, and every evil appears to us as originating from Islamic teachings. We do not realize that Islam has taught us even the etiquettes of spitting, explained the method of cleansing (istinja) and its etiquettes, and guided us regarding every small and big matter. What is needed? I also believe, and you are aware, so let us convert this awareness into the power of action.
Story Number 69:
Under the principle of self-help
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that wealth arrived from Bahrain to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Put it in the mosque,” and this wealth was more than the other wealth. After that, the Prophet (peace be upon him) came for prayer and did not pay any attention to it. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) finished the prayer, he sat by it and gave some wealth to whoever he saw. Meanwhile, the Prophet’s uncle, Hazrat Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), came and said, “O Messenger of Allah, grant me some as well, for I paid the ransom for myself and Aqil in the Battle of Badr (meaning I am indebted because of that).” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Take as much as you want.” So he took it in his clothes and then tried to lift it but could not. He said, “Tell someone to lift it.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “No!” Then he said, “Have you lift it yourself.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “No!” So Hazrat Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reduced some of it and lifted it on his shoulder and walked away. The Prophet (peace be upon him) was amazed at his greed and kept watching him until he was out of sight. Afterwards, the Prophet (peace be upon him) left from there when not a single dirham remained.
Benefit:
The Battle of Badr was a historic day of victory for Islam and defeat for disbelief, which established a clear boundary between truth and falsehood, breaking familial ties and binding all Muslims in the iron grip of “brotherhood of faith.” The arrest of the Prophet’s uncle, Hazrat Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), and his brother Aqil was a clear proof of this, from which Hazrat Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) had to spend all his savings to gain release, but the ransom could not be arranged, and he was forced to borrow.
After accepting Islam, the concern of repaying the debt troubled him. He came to the Prophet’s presence to receive his share of the wealth from Bahrain, and the mentioned incident occurred. It is necessary to view this not as “greed and avarice” but rather in the context of the circumstances of a poor and indebted person, so that no statement comes from our tongue about any companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that is unworthy of their status.
Story Number 70:
This was another miracle
Once, Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) went to Umm Salim (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him), and said, “Today I heard the voice of the Prophet (peace be upon him), but the voice seemed weak. It seems that the Prophet (peace be upon him) is hungry. Do you have something to eat?” Umm Salim replied, “Yes! There are some pieces of barley bread.” Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says, saying this, Umm Salim took out two pieces of bread, removed her dupatta (veil), wrapped the bread in its hem, hid it under my hand, and covered me with the remaining part of the dupatta, then sent me to the presence of the Prophet (peace be upon him). I took the bread and went to the Prophet (peace be upon him).
At that time, the Prophet (peace be upon him) was present in the mosque, and some other men were also sitting there. I went and stood. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked, “Did Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) send you?” I replied, “Yes.” He asked, “Did he send you with some food?” I said, “Yes.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to the companions, “Get up, let’s go.”
According to the command, people stood up and went. I was with everyone. (The Prophet (peace be upon him) reached the house of Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him)). I went to Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, “The Prophet (peace be upon him) has arrived.” Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Umm Salim (may Allah be pleased with her), “The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) has come with all these men, and we have nothing to eat?” Umm Salim (may Allah be pleased with her) replied, “God and His Messenger (peace be upon him) are well aware.”
After that, Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) came out to receive the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) entered the house of Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, “Umm Salim! Whatever you have, bring it.” Umm Salim (may Allah be pleased with her) presented the same bread. According to the command, the bread was broken into pieces, and Umm Salim squeezed the butter and mixed it like a curry. The Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed by the command of Allah over the bread. Then he said to Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him), “Allow ten men to eat.” Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) allowed ten men to eat. When they had eaten and were satisfied and left, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Allow ten more men.” Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) allowed ten more men, and they also ate, were satisfied, and left. The Prophet (peace be upon him) then said, “Call ten more.” According to the command, Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) called them, and they also ate, were satisfied, and left. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said again, “Call ten more.” In summary, all the people ate and were satisfied. At that time, there were seventy people.
Benefit:
Perhaps you remember that this “Anas” is the same servant of Mustafa (peace be upon him) who had the honor of serving the Prophet (peace be upon him) from the age of ten to twenty. This service not only instilled seriousness in him but also made him a connoisseur of the temperament of prophethood.
In the history of the world, there are many such incidents where a small amount was blessed so much that it sufficed for all present. However, as the central figure of the event, this is a rare example that you cannot find anywhere else except in the person of the Master of Medina, the Prophet (peace be upon him).
