❖ Narration of Mu’ayqib رضي الله عنه

Mu’ayqib رضي الله عنه narrated:
“They asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about wiping (during prayer)? He replied: ‘Once only.'”

The intended meaning of wiping here refers to leveling or adjusting pebbles on the place of prostration. This is clarified through another narration.

❖ Key Points and Benefits

➊ Touching Anything During Prayer is Not Permissible:
Even if there are pebbles on the ground where one performs sujood (prostration), it is not permissible to touch or adjust them during the prayer.

➋ Peace and Calmness in Prayer is Essential:
A tranquil and undisturbed prayer is most rewarding; moving or fiddling with things reduces the spiritual focus.

➌ Praying on Pebbled Surfaces is Allowed:
Salah is valid both in open grounds and in mosques, even if pebbles are present.

➍ Level the Ground Before Starting Prayer:
If the prayer space needs adjusting (like removing or leveling pebbles), it should be done before starting Salah—not during.
