❀ Ruling on Giving Adhān Before the Prayer Time Begins ❀

❖ Question:
What is the ruling on giving the adhān before the prayer time begins?
❖ Answer:
It is not permissible to give the adhān before the prayer time begins. If the adhān is given earlier, then it must be repeated once the prayer time has started.
❖ Statement of Ḥāfiẓ Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr (رحمه الله, 463H):
إن سائر الصلوات قد أجمعوا أنه لا يجوز لها الأذان قبل وقتها .
“The scholars are unanimously agreed that it is not permissible to give the adhān for any of the prayers before their appointed times.”
