◈ Hadith
ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAmr رضي الله عنهما narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“It is sufficient for a person to be sinful if he neglects those whose sustenance he is responsible for.”

Explanation and Lesson
① Neglecting one’s dependents — such as wife, children, or those under one’s care — is considered a major sin.
② Providing sustenance and financial support to one’s family is an obligation, not merely an act of charity.
③ Islam strongly condemns irresponsibility in family duties, considering it a cause of divine displeasure.
