❖ Question:
In the market, all the goats available were castrated. Is it valid to sacrifice a castrated goat? Also, is a castrated goat more virtuous for qurbānī or a non-castrated one?
❖ Answer:
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!
- A goat whose testicles have been removed falls under the category of castrated (khaṣī).
- The sacrifice of a castrated goat is proven from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
(Mishkāt al-Maṣābīḥ, Kitāb al-Ṣalāh, Bāb fī al-Uḍḥiyyah, al-Faṣl al-Thānī)
As for whether a castrated goat is superior or a non-castrated goat, I do not have clear knowledge on this matter.
