It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade taking the price of a dog, the earnings of a prostitute, and the payment to a soothsayer.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muhayyisa (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about cupping, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade him from it. But he kept repeatedly seeking permission from the Prophet until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(The money earned from it) feed it to your slave or spend it on the fodder for your camel."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muhayyisa al-Harithī (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about the earnings obtained from cupping. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade it. Then Muhayyisa (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned his need and necessity, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered, "Spend the money obtained from it on the fodder for your camel."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done and gave wages to the cupper. (The narrator says that if this was an unlawful profession, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would not have given wages.)

It was asked from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) have cupping done? He replied: Yes, Abu Taybah performed cupping for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him two sa’ of grain as wages and said to his owners: “Reduce his tax.” And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, the best treatment you use is cupping, and for the treatment of children’s tonsils, use costus (Qust al-Bahri), and do not cause pain to children by pressing their throats.”

He kept asking for permission repeatedly until the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Spend this earning on your camel and your slave."

Muhammad al-Ajlani says that I saw Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) urinating in Quba. After urinating, he cleaned his private part, then performed ablution and wiped over his socks. When he entered the mosque of Quba, he offered prayer.
