Hadith 623

It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him): We were in the gathering of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said to us: “Pledge allegiance to me that you will not associate anything with Allah, even to the extent of a speck...” Then he recited the entire mentioned verse. (Then he said:) “Whoever among you fulfills this condition, his reward is with Allah. And whoever breaks this condition and is punished for it, then that punishment will be an expiation for him. And whoever is involved in these mentioned crimes and Allah conceals his crime, then his matter is with Allah: if He wills, He will forgive him, and if He wills, He will punish him.”
