أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو ، أَنْبَأَنَا صُهَيْبٌ ، مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ قَتَلَ عُصْفُورَةً فَمَا فَوْقَهَا بِغَيْرِ حَقِّهَا سَأَلَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَنْ قَتْلِهَا " ، قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا حَقُّهَا ؟ قَالَ : " يَذْبَحُهَا فَيَأْكُلُهَا وَلا يَقْطَعْ رَأْسَهَا فَيَرْمِيَ بِهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever kills a sparrow or anything smaller without a just cause, Allah Almighty will question him about it." It was asked: O Messenger of Allah, what is its right? He (ﷺ) said: "That he slaughters it and eats it, and does not just cut off its head and throw it away."
