عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ ، ، قَالُوا : كُنَّا قُعُودًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ : إِنَّ جَارِيَتِيَ زَنَتْ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اجْلِدْهَا ، فَإِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدْهَا ، فَإِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدْهَا ، فَإِنْ زَنَتْ فَبِعْهَا وَلَوْ بِضَفِيرٍ " .
Sayyiduna Zaid bin Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man came to him and said, "My slave girl has committed adultery." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Flog her. If she commits adultery again, then flog her. If she commits adultery a third time, then flog her. If she commits adultery again, then sell her, even if only for the price of a rope."
