Hadith 517

عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنِ اقْتَطَعَ حَقَّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ بِيَمِينِهِ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَوْجَبَ لَهُ النَّارَ " ، قَالُوا : وَإِنْ كَانَ شَيْئًا يَسِيرًا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " وَإِنْ كَانَ قَضِيبًا مِنْ أَرَاكٍ " ، قَالَهَا ثَلاثًا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever seizes the wealth of a Muslim through a false oath, Allah Almighty has made Paradise forbidden for him and has made Hell obligatory for him." The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: Even if it is a small thing? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even if it is a twig of the miswak tree." He said this three times.
