عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ الطُّفَيْلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدَّوْسِيُّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ دَوْسًا قَدْ عَصَتْ وَأَبَتْ فَادْعُ اللَّهَ عَلَيْهَا فَاسْتَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْقِبْلَةَ وَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ : هَلَكَتْ دَوْسٌ فَقَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِ دَوْسًا وَأْتِ بِهِمُ اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِ دَوْسًا وَأْتِ بِهِمْ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Sayyiduna Tufail bin Amr Dausi (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! The tribe of Daus has rejected the call to monotheism and disobeyed Allah; so supplicate against them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards the Qiblah and raised his hands, so the people said: Daus is destroyed. But the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated: “O Allah! Guide Daus and bring them to me, O Allah! Guide Daus and bring them to me.”
