عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ نَاجِيَةَ صَاحِبِ بُدْنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ بِمَا عَطِبَ مِنَ الْبُدْنِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " انْحَرْهُ ثُمَّ اغْمِسْ قَلائِدَهُ فِي دَمِهِ ثُمَّ اضْرِبْ بِهَا صَفْحَتَهُ ثُمَّ خَلِّ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّاسِ " .
It is narrated from Urwah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the caretaker of the camels of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Najiyah (may Allah have mercy on him), asked: "What should be done with the sacrificial animal for Hajj that becomes exhausted while walking?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Slaughter it, stain its collar well with blood, strike its side, and then leave it for the people."
