عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ صَاحِبَ هَدْيِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ بِمَا عَطِبَ مِنَ الْهَدْيِ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " انْحَرْهَا ثُمَّ أَلْقِ قَلائِدَهَا فِي دَمِهَا ثُمَّ خَلِّ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَبَيْنَهَا يَأْكُلُونَهَا " .
It is narrated from Urwah bin Zubair, may Allah have mercy on him, that the caretaker of the camels of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, asked: O Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, what should be done with an animal that becomes exhausted on the way (to the House of Allah)? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Slaughter it, then dip its collar in its blood, then leave it for the people so that they may eat it."
