Hadith 4

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was commanded to prostrate on seven parts: both his hands, his forehead, his nose, both his knees, and the sides of his toes, and he was forbidden to gather his hair and clothes during prayer. The narrator of the hadith, Sufyan (may Allah have mercy on him), says that Ibn Tawus (may Allah have mercy on him) practically showed us by passing his hand over his forehead up to the tip of his nose and said: My father Tawus (may Allah have mercy on him) used to count this whole part as one limb.
