حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ الأَشْعَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ مِنَ الْبِرِّ الصِّيَامُ فِي السَّفَرِ " .
It is narrated from Ka'b bin Asim Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fasting during travel is not righteousness."
