Hadith 288

وَأَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَجِيدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ حَدَّثَهُ , " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ رَجُلا أَفْطَرَ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ أَنْ يُعْتِقَ رَقَبَةً ، أَوْ صِيَامَ شَهْرَيْنِ ، أَوْ إِطْعَامَ سِتِّينَ مِسْكِينًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered a man who had broken his fast in Ramadan to "free a slave, or fast for two months, or feed sixty needy people."
