Hadith 23

أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، يَقُولُ : " صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ ثَمَانِيًا جَمِيعًا وَسَبْعًا جَمِيعًا " . قَالَ : قُلْتُ لأَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ أَظُنُّهُ أَخَّرَ الظُّهْرَ وَعَجَّلَ الْعَصْرَ , وَأَخَّرَ الْمَغْرِبَ وَعَجَّلَ الْعِشَاءَ , قَالَ : وَأَنَا أَظُنُّ ذَلِكَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he stayed in Madinah with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and he (the Prophet) offered eight rak‘ahs together and seven rak‘ahs together. The narrator says: I said to Abu Sha‘tha: "I think the Prophet delayed Zuhr and offered ‘Asr early, and likewise delayed Maghrib and offered ‘Isha early?" Abu Sha‘tha said: "I also think the same."
