عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةِ " . وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ اشْتِرَاءُ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ ، وَالْمُحَاقَلَةُ اشْتِرَاءُ الزَّرْعِ بِالْحِنْطَةِ وَاسْتِكْرَاءُ الأَرْضِ بِالْحِنْطَةِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'id bin al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade muzabanah and muhaqalah. Muzabanah means exchanging dried dates for dates still on the tree, and muhaqalah means buying a standing crop in exchange for grain, and he also forbade leasing land in exchange for grain.
