Hadith 134

It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyida Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her), daughter of Jahsh, suffered from istihada (non-menstrual bleeding) for seven years. She asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about the issue, and he gave a verdict, saying: "This is not menstrual blood; it is blood from a vein. Perform ghusl and offer prayer." Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that thereafter she would perform ghusl for every prayer. She would sit in a tub, and the redness of the blood would rise above the water, then she would come out and perform the prayer.
