قَالَ اللهُ جَلَّ ثَنَاؤُهُ: {إِذَا تَدَايَنْتُمْ بِدَيْنٍ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى فَاكْتُبُوهُ} [البقرة: 282]، وَقَالَ فِي سِيَاقِهَا: {وَاسْتَشْهِدُوا شَهِيدَيْنِ مِنْ رِجَالِكُمْ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُونَا رَجُلَيْنِ فَرَجُلٌ وَامْرَأَتَانِ مِمَّنْ تَرْضَوْنَ مِنَ الشُّهَدَاءِ أَنْ تَضِلَّ إِحْدَاهُمَا فَتُذَكِّرَ إِحْدَاهُمَا الْأُخْرَى} [البقرة: 282].
The saying of Allah, exalted be His praise: "When you contract a debt with one another for a fixed term, write it down." [Surah al-Baqarah: 282]
And in its context He said: "And call two witnesses from among your men; and if there are not two men, then one man and two women from among those whom you accept as witnesses, so that if one of the two (women) forgets, the other can remind her." [Surah al-Baqarah: 282]

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا ابْنُ مِلْحَانَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْهَادِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ، تَصَدَّقْنَ وَأَكْثِرْنَ الِاسْتِغْفَارَ، فَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُكُنَّ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِ النَّارِ "، قَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْهُنَّ: مَا لَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: " تُكْثِرْنَ اللَّعْنَ وَتَكْفُرْنَ الْعَشِيرَ، وَمَا رَأَيْتُ مِنْ نَاقِصَاتِ عَقْلٍ وَدِينٍ أَغْلَبَ لِذِي اللُّبِ مِنْكُنَّ "، قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَمَا نُقْصَانُ الْعَقْلِ وَالدِّينِ؟ قَالَ: " أَمَّا نُقْصَانُ الْعَقْلِ، فَشَهَادَةُ امْرَأَتَيْنِ تَعْدِلُ شَهَادَةَ رَجُلٍ وَاحِدٍ، فَهَذَا نُقْصَانُ الْعَقْلِ، وَتَمْكُثُ اللَّيَالِيَ لَا تُصَلِّي، وَتُفْطِرُ فِي رَمَضَانَ، فَهَذَا نُقْصَانُ الدِّينِ ". ⦗٢٥١⦘.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O assembly of women! Give charity and seek forgiveness abundantly, for I have seen you to be the majority of the people of Hell." A woman among them said: O Messenger of Allah! Why is that for us (that we are the majority of the people of Hell)? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. And I have not seen any who are deficient in intellect and religion more overpowering of a man of sense than you." She said: O Messenger of Allah! What is the deficiency of intellect and religion? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As for the deficiency of intellect, the testimony of two women equals the testimony of one man; this is the deficiency of intellect. And she remains for nights without praying, and does not fast in Ramadan; this is the deficiency of religion."
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّسَوِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ التُّجِيبِيُّ، أنبأ اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، فَذَكَرَهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ نَحْوَهُ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْهُنَّ جَزْلَةٌ: مَا لَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِ النَّارِ؟ رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رُمْحٍ.
Layth bin Sa'd (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates similarly with his chain: She quickly said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Why are we the majority of the people of Hell?
