Sacrificing at night during the days of Mina

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، ثنا سَعْدَانُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، فَذَكَرَهُ.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِقَيِّمٍ لَهُ جَدَّ نَخْلَهُ بِاللَّيْلِ: أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ جِدَادِ اللَّيْلِ وَصِرَامِ اللَّيْلِ؟ أَوْ قَالَ: وَحَصَادِ اللَّيْلِ. قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: يُقَالُ: حَتَّى يَكُونَ بِالنَّهَارِ وَيَحْضُرَهُ الْمَسَاكِينُ..
Ali bin Husayn (may Allah have mercy on him) said to a caretaker of his who had harvested his date palms at night: Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade cutting fruit at night and plucking fruit at night? Or he said: and harvesting at night. Sufyan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: It is said: (it should be) so that it is done in the daytime and the poor are present.
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَعْرُوفِ الْإِسْفِرَايِينِيُّ، بِهَا أنبأ بِشْرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ نَصْرٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، فَذَكَرَهُ بِمَعْنَاهُ لَمْ ⦗٤٨٨⦘ يَذْكُرِ الصِّرَامَ وَالْحَصَادَ. قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: فَسَأَلُوا جَعْفَرًا عَنِ الْأَضْحَى بِاللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ: لَا. قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: هَذَا فِي حَالِ الْمَسَاكِينِ.
Sufyan narrated it with the same meaning, but did not mention the plucking of dates and the harvesting. Sufyan said: They asked Ja'far about sacrificing at night, and he said: No. Sufyan said: This (prohibition) concerns the situation of the poor.
