أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ هُوَ الْأَصَمُّ، أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، أنبأ الشَّافِعِيُّ، أنبأ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعْدِ الْفَلَحَةِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ أَوِ ابْنِ سَعْدِ الْفَلَحَةِ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: مَا نَصَارَى الْعَرَبِ بِأَهْلِ كِتَابٍ، وَمَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا ذَبَائِحُهُمْ، وَمَا أَنَا بِتَارِكِهِمْ حَتَّى يُسْلِمُوا أَوْ أَضْرِبَ أَعْنَاقَهُمْ.
Sa'd al-Falahah, the freed slave of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), or Ibn Sa'd al-Falahah, reports that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Christians of the Arabs are not People of the Book, nor are their slaughtered animals lawful for us, and I will not leave them until they accept Islam, or else I will strike their necks.
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ، أنبأ الشَّافِعِيُّ، أنبأ الثَّقَفِيُّ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ السَّلْمَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: لَا تَأْكُلُوا ذَبَائِحَ نَصَارَى بَنِي تَغْلِبَ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَتَمَسَّكُوا مِنْ دِينِهِمْ إِلَّا بِشُرْبِ الْخَمْرِ.
Abidah al-Salmani (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): Do not eat the slaughtered animals of the Christians of Banu Taghlib, for they have held firmly to nothing of their religion except the drinking of wine.
